Reporting Emergencies
For any emergency situation, contact the UAB Police by Dialing 911 from any UAB phone or the nearest HELP PHONE.

If you are calling from a non-UAB phone dial (205) 934-3535.

State your name, location, and the nature of the emergency.

During regular business hours, you can contact OH&S at 934-2487. After hours, you may reach the Director on call by paging 8744 or calling 288-6742.


Emergency Weather Information

List yourself as Safe and Well

If you have been affected by a disaster, the American Red Cross has a website that provides a way for you to register yourself as "safe and well." From a list of standard messages, you can select those that you want to communicate to your family members, letting them know of your well-being.

Preserving the Stories of Katrina, Rita and Wilma

The Center for History and New Media (CHNM) at George Mason University and the University of New Orleans organized a project in partnership with the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History and other partners, using electronic media to collect, preserve, and present the stories and digital record of Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Wilma.
