All utility cart operators must complete Utility Cart Safety training.

Please thoroughly review the “Golf Cart/Utility Vehicle Operation Program” document and view the training video entitled “The Safe Operation Of Utility Carts,” prior to operating a cart. The video is available from the Department of Occupational Health and Safety for internal, UAB use.

Any person currently operating a cart as of the effective date of the program will have 30 days to complete the required training. Each department should maintain proof that their cart drivers have completed the required training.

For intermittent training or daily reminders, departments may utilize the Golf Cart/Utility Vehicle Driver Quick Reference. The Golf Cart/Utility Vehicle Driver Quick Reference is not, however, a substitute for the Cart Safety Training Program.
