To register for a class:

1. Go the the Faculty & Staff Learning System and click on "Access Learning System".
2. Login with your BlazerID or XIAS account .
3. Click on "Catalog" at the top of the page.
4. Either:
   
   1. Search for the course by name (e.g. "OHS BIO300") - OR -
   2. In the Category tree on the left, click the plus (+) sign next to "UNIVERSITY (CAMPUS)", click the plus (+) sign next to "Research", then click on Occupational Health and Safety (OHS):

5. Click on the course title and then click on "Enroll in this Course".

Once you are registered for a class, it will be available from the "My Learning" tab.

Note: If you cannot login to the learning system, either:

1. You work at UAB and have a valid current Blazer ID, but do not have access due to your employment status. Follow the instructions below.
2. You are non-UAB personnel. Follow the instructions below.

Other UAB personnel must request access to the FSLS.
If you are at UAB with a valid Blazer ID, but your work status is 06, 11, 60, or 99, you must request access to the FSLS by e-mailing Fredia Dillard with the following information:

1. Your BlazerID
2. Your first, middle & last names
3. Your phone number
4. Your business address
5. The name of your PI, lab supervisor or manager
6. The name of the class(es) you wish to take
7. Why you are taking the class (e.g., course requirement, work in a lab - give PI's name, etc.)

Non-UAB personnel must login with a XIAS account.
If you are non-UAB personnel who must take our regulatory classes, you must request a XIAS account by
e-mailing the following information:

1. Current, valid e-mail address
2. Your first, middle & last names
3. Your phone number
4. Your business address
5. The name of your PI, lab supervisor or manager
6. The name of the class(es) you wish to take
7. Why you are taking the class (e.g., course requirement, work in a lab - give PI's name, etc.)
8. Name of a UAB employee who can sponsor/vouch for you & the reason you need access
9. His/her phone number & UAB e-mail address

XIAS accounts are for students (undergrad and graduates), volunteers, consultants, and non-UAB personnel.

UAB employees: do not request a XIAS account. Log into the FSLS with your Blazer ID and strong password. If you have difficulties logging in, and are not a student, volunteer, or consultant, call AskIT (996-5555). They will put you in touch with the appropriate person.
