To get the most from this training, you will need to know a variety of terms as they are defined by the Standard. Please keep in mind that these are regulatory definitions, not necessarily common dictionary definitions.

Universal Precautions (As Defined by the CDC)

An approach to prevention of bloodborne pathogen transmission that involves:
  • Assuming that all blood, blood products, and body fluids are contaminated.
  • Always handling such materials using appropriate safety precautions and good work practices.
