Welcome to Bloodborne Pathogen Training

All University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) employees with the potential for exposure to bloodborne pathogens in their workplace environment must receive special training.

Note that for the purposes of this training, anyone who receives payment from UAB (including student workers and Grad Students) who is exposed as part of their job duties is an EMPLOYEE.

In this Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) training program, you will learn methods of protecting yourself from potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens in your workplace. It also covers the very important procedures that must be carried out should accidental exposure occur.

The program is organized into sections, beginning with a description of the terminology used and a description of the bloodborne pathogens regulations. At the end of the program is a brief test. Once you have successfully completed the training and passed the test you will be registered with OH&S as having completed the Bloodborne Pathogens Training Course. The entire program should take less than an hour.
If you have any questions during the course of this presentation, you may call 934-2487 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. If you are unsure if you need to receive this training, check out the BBP criteria and training requirements before continuing.
