BBP Criteria and Training Requirements

From the OSHA Standard: "Occupational Exposure means reasonably anticipated skin, eye, mucous membrane, or perenteral contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials that may result from the performance of an employee's duties".

Training and Information
From the OSHA Standard: (2)(i) "Employers shall insure that all employees with occupational exposure participate in a training program which must be provided at no cost to the employee and during working hours".

From the OSHA Standard: (2)(ii)(A-C) "Training shall be provided as follows: (A) at the time of initial assignment to tasks where occupational exposure may take place; (B) within 90 days after the effective date of the standard; and (C) at least annually thereafter.

From the OSHA Standard: (2)(C)(v) "Employers shall provide additional training when changes such as modification of tasks or procedures or institution of new tasks or procedures affect the employee's occupational exposure. The additional training may be limited to addressing the new exposures created".
